pple has aready started to test its next-generation iPhone as well as iOS operating system, a media report citing software developers reveals. It is noteworthy that Apple first started to test the iPhone 6, not the iPad 5, despite of the rumours about Apple’s intention to update the lineup of media tablets in March, 2013.
A software developer demonstrated The Next Web web-site app usage logs, which prove that Apple had begun testing hardware with “iPhone6.1” identifier powered by iOS 7 operating system. Current five-generation iPhone models are identified as 5.1, 5.2, etc., therefore, Apple is testing a brand-new hardware with a new identifier as well as a new version of operating system.
The logs obtained by the Next Web show that Apple has been testing its seventh-generation iPhone from its headquarters in Cupertino, California, which may indicate that the smartphone has not yet been obtained by operators and other partners of Apple.
Unfortunately, the logs do not show any details or specifications of the iPhone 6, but the fact that the tests of the device have begun prove that the product may be released earlier than in September, 2013, exactly a year after the iPhone 5.
Apple did not comment on the news-story.

That Apple is working on +1 version of every single device in their lineup is really no big secret I should think. That all of their competitors are doing exactly the same is also no big secret.
