Motorola Mobility, a division of Google, on Thursday introduced one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, the Moto X. Being powered by a powerful mobile application processor, the Moto X features a number of unique features and special-purpose chips. Besides, every single Moto X can be designed by the end-users themselves via the Internet and will be assembled in Texas, USA.

Motorola Moto X is based on X8 mobile computing system that is comprised of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960DT (two Krait cores, Adreno 320 graphics engine, dual-channel memory controller) as well as special purpose natural language processor and contextual processor. The smartphone features a 4.7” AMOLED display with 1280*720 resolution (316ppi) covered with Google Gorilla Glass as well as 10.5MP (rear) and 2.1MP (front). Moto X comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB NAND flash storage, Bluetooth 4.0 LE + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/b/n/ac (dual band capable) and can operate over GSM, 3G, 3.5G (UMTS/HSPA at up to 42Mb/s) and 4G/LTE networks. The gadget uses 2200mAh battery. The device runs Google Android 4.2.2 operating system.

The Moto X features number of user friendly features, including Touchless Control (you can check the weather, get directions, or do just about anything without lifting a finger thanks to voice control), Active Display (keeps the information you need to know at your fingertips, important information quietly appears on the screen) as well as Quick Camera (it takes two quick twists of your wrist and Moto X is ready to shoot).

Perhaps, the most important feature of Google’s Moto X is ultimate abilities to customize it. Through the online studio called Moto Maker, users can choose the colors, and decide on the details: front, back, accents, memory, wallpapers, even add a name or a short message. The total amount of possible combinations is said to exceed 2000 and more are coming. Designs of headphones/headsets can also be matched to the smartphone. Motorola will assemble customized Moto X in Ft. Worth, Texas and ship it to for free in 4 days.

In the U.S., woven black and woven white models will be available at AT&T, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Verizon Wireless and at national retailers including Best Buy stores with a suggested retail price of $199 with a new two-year agreement. Additionally, it will be available on all carriers, including T-Mobile, at Motorola.com.
