As Apple announced, it has a number of new products to announce this fall. According to the latest market rumours, Apple will introduce two new iPads later this month on Tuesday, October 22. While it is logical for Apple to introduce new tablets about a year after it launched fourth-gen iPad as well as iPad mini, what remains to be seen is what those tablets will offer.
People familiar with Apple’s plans revealed to AllThingsD web-site that the company will hold its next invitation-only event on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. During the event, Apple is projected to introduce its next-generation iPad media tablets, but will also likely to reveal more details, or even launch new Mac Pro desktop as well as Mac OS “Mavericks” operating system. It is unknown where the event is to be held.
It is more than likely that the fifth-generation iPad will feature all-new Apple A7X 64-bit application processor with custom Cyclone ARMv8 general purpose cores, LPDDR3 memory controller as well as Imagination Technologies PowerVR 6-series “Rogue” graphics engine with four graphics processing clusters. The tablet will also likely feature Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The 9.7” display is projected to remain intact, just like the 2048*1536 resolution, but the form-factor itself is projected to be a little different.
The new iPad mini will likely only change the application processor, but will unlikely to get a new retina-class screen.
It is noteworthy that the event on 22nd of October will coincide with the rumoured launch of long-anticipated media tablet from Nokia.
Apple did not comment on the news-story.
