Both graphics giants today proudly issued official press releases stating that notebooks powered by the mobile graphics processors with DirectX 9.0 capabilities are now for sale from Gericom and Toshiba. We congratulate MOBILITY RADEON 9600 and GeForce FX Go5600 with making it to the market.
<%BANNER[article]%>NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5600 GPU with 64MB DDR SDRAM memory is now available in Toshiba’s Satellite 5205-S705 notebook PC. The computer is based on Intel Pentium 4-M processor and comes equipped with 512MB of memory up to 60GB HDD, DVD multi-function drive, WLAN, TV-Tuner, 15” display and so on. The high end device costs more than $2500.
ATI Technologies’ MOBILITY RADEON 9600 with 64MB of memory comes integrated in Gericom’s Overdose RADEON 2040 XL mobile personal computer. The notebook is powered by a high-end Pentium 4-M CPU, 512MB of DDR SDRAM, a 60GB hard drive, a DVD-R/RW drive, and a 15” SXGA+ panel display. The thing is also not really cheap.
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 and NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5600 are based on the same architecture like their desktop counterparts. They provide the same features and capabilities, however still perform a bit slower because they feature numerous power-saving technologies.
