NVIDIA Rolls Out Professional Mobile Powerhouse

Quadro FX Go1000 Delivers Unprecedented Performance

NVIDIA Corporation today unveiled its new professional graphics processor for laptop computers that incorporates the company’s popular GeForce FX 5700 architecture. The firm’s new Quadro FX Go1000 is available immediately in Dell’s Precision M60 mobile workstations.

 

The newly unveiled mobile professional solution has 4 rendering pipelines, boast with improved 2 pixel and 3 vertex shader processing engines, as well as NVIDIA UltraShadow capability.

Besides improved architecture to boost 3D performance, NVIDIA’s GeForce FX Go5700 as well as Quadro FX Go1000 also feature lower power consumption and improved quality of HD, DVD video compared to predecessors. The new GeForce FX Go5700 operates at 1.1V, a 0.08V decrease from the GeForce FX Go5600, will implement a new power-management technology called PowerMizer 4.0 and will offer more performance at 8W of typical power consumption in 3D applications. Some other measures to limit power consumption are also packed into the new GPUs.

Quadro FX solutions provide full 128-bit floating-point precision pipeline, 12-bit subpixel precision, hardware accelerated antialiased points & lines, Hardware OpenGL overlay planes, hardware accelerated two-sided lighting, hardware accelerated clipping planes, 3rd generation occlusion culling, 16 textures per pixel, OpenGL quad-buffered stereo (3-pin sync connector), AGP 8x with Fast Writes and sideband addressing as well as other features, such as 16x antialising and so on.

NVIDIA Quadro FX Go1000 delivers highest scores in SPECviewperf 7.1.1 3dsmax-02, ProE-02, and Ugs-03 tests among mobile workstation graphics solutions according to NVIDIA.

The GeForce FX Go5700 – the core of the Quadro FX Go1000 – is able to dynamically adjust its working frequency according to current actions of the user, but will have two general speeds – 350/300(600)MHz for core/memory in Performance mode and 450/300(600)MHz in Desktop Replacement mode. The former is the setting to achieve maximum performance on battery power; the latter setting is to attain performance level of a desktop graphics card when working on outlet power. It is projected that the Quadro FX Go1000 is also able to adjust its speed and power consumption.
