According to TV ads broadcasted in the USA, Apple Inc. will start to sell its iPhone handset on the 29th of June, 2007. The launch will proceed at the announced timeframe, but it is uncertain whether the company manages to become successful on the new market for itself with pretty expensive device.
<%BANNER[article]%>Sunday night’s ads showed off several of the gadget’s features and ended with the pronouncement that the phone will be available “Only on the new AT&T” and “Coming June 29”, reports Associated Press news-agency.
Apple iPhone is equipped with touch-screen instead of keypad, something never before available on handhelds. Besides, Apple iPhone includes support for quad-band GSM, EDGE, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR wireless technologies. The iPhone features a 2 megapixel (2MP) camera and a photo management application. The iPhone, however, is not small: it features a 3.5” screen that makes the device a relatively bulky.

But $500 - $600 price range with a contract may be a too high price for customers, many of which already have both iPod digital media player and a handset. Even though from some points of view Apple iPhone is unique, its pricing and somewhat controversial touch-screen may negatively affect its popularity.
