Despite of expectations, Apple revealed no details about the Apple iPhone nano inexpensive handset at Macworld trade-show in early January, however, this does not stop further rumours about the cell phone from emerging, which indirectly confirms Apple’s intention to launch the device.
Chinese-language news-paper Economic Daily News (which article was partly translated by DigiTimes web-site) claims that that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) were likely to land orders for chips inside the Apple iPhone nano. The paper reportedly claims that the orders would be submitted sometimes in March.
The information may not be exactly a good confirmation of an inexpensive cell phone from Apple, as TSMC and UMC may not poses all the information about the products that they build chips for.
Apple, TSMC and UMC did not comment on the news-story.
