The U.S. Court of Delaware said that it would put the patent battle between Apple and Nokia on hold till 2012.
A federal judge signed an order earlier this month delaying litigation in a lawsuits in which Nokia claims that Apple is infringing on seven Nokia patents in various products, the order also affects Apple counterclaims alleging Nokia of infringing nine of its patents, reports Associated Press news-agency.
As a result of the order, the legal struggle between the two companies are likely to either last for much longer than two years, or the two makers of consumer electronics end up with a cross-licensing agreement.
Nokia is seeking payment of up to €1 billion ($1.337 billion), analysts say, notes Reuters news-agency.
