Sony Mobile Communications is expected to unveil its new flagship models code-named Yuga and Odin in the middle of this month, according to reports from various web-sites. While the information code-not be verified, it is noteworthy that Sony has uploaded photos of its C660x and C650x onto its web-site.
Sony Mobile plans to reveal its Xperia Z (C660x, Yuga) and Xperia ZL (C650x, Odin) flagship smartphones at a press conference on January 15, 2012, reports XperiaBlog.net web-site. Both smartphones will feature quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 application processor (four Krait general-purpose cores, Adreno 320 graphics core, dual-channel memory controller), 2GB RAM, 13MP Exmor RS camera, 5” full-HD (1920*1080) display, but the more advanced Xperia Z (C660x, Yuga) will feature a water/dust resistant chassis. The phones will use Google Android 4-series operating system.

A Chinese source reported that pricing of Sony Xperia Z flagship offering will be similar to that of Xperia TX smartphones, which is currently on sale for 4298 Yuan in China (£427, €520, $689). Such pricing will be more than competitive when compared to Apple iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy S III, hence, it is logical to expect the top-of-the-range model to cost more than Xperia TX today.
Sony did not comment on the news-story.
