Sega Company is going to compete against Sony Corporation in the portable gaming consoles market. According to TheRegister, they are going to launch a device of their own with functionality comparable to PlayStation Portable.

The new gadget also known as Sega Vision is positioned as a portable media player (PMP) with the functionality of a gaming console. The device will have a built-in camera and a TV-tuner. Moreover, Sega Vision is also designed for reading electronic books and hence will also compete with another Sony solution.

We don’t have any details on the Sega Vision specifications at this time. The manufacturer claims that it will start shipping in early 2009, however, the price is still unknown.
