A representative for Microsoft Corp. denied plans of the company to demonstrate next-generation Xbox video game console this year at the E3 trade-show. The software giant believes that Xbox 360 still has a lot of time ahead of it and it does not make sense to unleash a new system just now.

"The cycle of the Xbox 360 is by no means complete. There is no logic of price drop this year. [...] What is certain is that there will be nothing new in 2012," said Cedrick Delmas, a spokesperson for Microsoft in France, in an interview with LePoint.fr.

Unofficial reports imply that Microsoft Corp. is about to start sending development kit of Xbox Loop video game console to game developers. It was reported in January that contract manufacturers had already started to produce system-on-chips for Xbox Next development kit. All-in-all, many indicators have emerged pointing to possible demonstration of the future Xbox console at the E3 show in 2012.

In the world of game consoles, it is crucial for platform owners to consistently reaffirm plans for future devices as well as support for the current-generation consoles. In many ways, even rumours about next-gen Xbox boost interest towards the existing Xbox 360, something that Microsoft needs in the light of the launch of Nintendo Wii U. Still, the company vigorously denies that it needs to fight the Wii U.

"If we had to deal with Nintendo, we would be able to come up with something immediately, but it is not the case at all. [...] Nintendo has placed itself in a different cycle, they advance at their own pace, successfully as we have seen with the Wii, and now it is their turn to present their innovation," added Mr. Delmas.

Us gamers should all make a pact together and give each console 5 years (from release date) and then refuse to spend money on it after that, no one buy any new games or hardware, and force them to update their console.

They keep saying there is plent of life (I.E. money) left in the current consoles but come on who is buying the same rehashed games and graphics month after month?

They need to see a top game playing on a high end PC to see why consoles need to move on now.
