Even though the next-generation of video game consoles is just around the corner, Microsoft Corp. and Sony Corp. need to continue selling their existing offerings. This week, Microsoft introduced its Xbox 360 250GB spring value bundle for those, who want to obtain the current game console at an attractive price.

Microsoft Xbox 360 250GB spring value bundle Xbox 360 250GB game console, wireless controller, headset, a copy of Darksiders II and Batman: Arkham City via download, as well as one month free of Xbox Live Gold for $299. The new Xbox 360 bundle will be available for a limited time, while supplies last, at select major U.S. retail stores (as well as Amazon.com) this spring.

Without Kinect motion sensor, the new spring value bundle will barely address casual gamers to the platform, but will rather appeal to core gamers who want to get the Xbox 360 slim now and get something valuable with it. Perhaps, the $299 bundle will attract attention of those gamers, who want to obtain Nintendo Wii U basic (with 8GB of NAND flash memory) for $299 and make them change their mind.

At present, it is unknown whether Microsoft plans another spring value bundle with Kinect, but given the fact that the company is projected to reveal the next-generation Xbox code-named Durango in April, it is unlikely that the company will introduce a lot of Xbox 360 bundles for spring.

Traditionally, Microsoft Xbox 360 value bundles are only available in North America.
