Razer, one of the world’s leading producers of personal computer peripherals, recently decided to manufacture devices for other companies in a bid to boost its sales. Last week Razer agreed to make mice and keyboards for Origin, a leading boutique PC maker. This week the company said it would make limited-edition peripherals under Evil Genius brand.

Origin PC chose BlackWidow keyboard, Taipan mouse and Goliathus mouse pad with an exclusive black and red backlit color scheme. The Origin PC BlackWidow keyboard and Taipan mouse not only fully support all the technical features that the original Razer products have to offer, but only sport full support of Razer’s Synapse 2.0 cloud technology by automatically synchronizing user profile settings to a cloud server and allowing complete customization of the keyboard and mouse with a single login.

“Razer and Origin PC have a shared passion for advancing the state-of-the-art in PC performance to support the advanced needs of gamers. The opportunity to collaborate on bringing Razer’s market-leading, gaming-grade hardware to Origin systems customers is a great way to underscore both of our brands’ commitment to gaming in a real and immediately impactful way,” said Min-Liang Tan, the founder, CEO and creative director of Razer.

The limited edition Evil Geniuses eSports line by Razer includes a Razer Taipan gaming mouse, Razer Goliathus gaming mouse mat and a Razer BlackWidow ultimate stealth edition mechanical gaming keyboard. Each of these peripherals is designed with tournament-ready hardware, including a high-precision 8200 dpi laser sensor in the mouse, a glide-attuned surface for slick movement on the mouse mat and fast-actuating mechanical switches in the keyboard.

During the design process, Evil Geniuses contributed extensively to the visual detailing of these exclusive peripherals, which embraces the team’s blue and silver color scheme across all three products. The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth Edition keyboard and Razer Taipan mouse also feature unique white backlighting.

"We wanted to create a full line of gaming peripherals for many years now. Razer's enthusiasm for a custom line of Evil Geniuses products was a major factor in our decision to partner with them in the first place. It shows that there was an internal commitment at Razer to help us grow as a business,” said Alex Garfield, chief executive of Evil Geniuses.

By making third-party branded peripherals, Razer ensures that its products are more broadly available. Besides, Razer ensures that Origin PC and Evil Geniuses will promote peripherals made by the company.
