One More External Sound Blaster from Creative Labs

Now With USB 2.0 and 7.1 Support

Creative Technology unveiled yet another external Sound Blaster for those, who do not have a spare PCI slot in their personal computers. The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX continues trends and traditions originally started by the Sound Blaster Extigy, but, surprisingly, Creative Technology decided not to use “Extigy” brand-name any more, and, fortunately, add USB 2.0 and a lot of advanced audio techniques support in their newcomer.

Here are some of the qualities that make Creative Labs Audigy 2 NX unique and very interesting product to buy:

5.1 and 7.1 speaker systems support;
24-bit DVD-Audio playback;
102dB SNR;
24-bit/96kHz in stereo with premium 24-bit/96kHz ADC for both playback and record;
Line-In, Mic-In, SPDIF Out, Optical SPDIF In/Out connectors for speakers, mic, headphones and audio devices;
Remote controller;
USB 2.0 compliant (note that Creative Technology does not provide USB 2.0 drivers at this point);
EAX Acoustic Enhancements;
EAX ADVANCED HD game effects;

The Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX is priced at only $129.99 and will be available this month, Creative Labs said.
