Seagate Technology, a leading storage company, said this week Creative Technology, the world’s largest multimedia firm, would use Seagate’s ST1 hard disk drive for the company’s upcoming portable music player.

Seagate’s new RunOn Technology improves music streaming performance when jogging or walking. RunOn Technology helps the ST1 drive sense a high motion environment and compensate for it, enabling the drive to find the music it is looking for. The Seagate ST1 Series can hold up to 90 hours 128kbps music files, its typical time-to-ready is 2 seconds or less, and its unique rugged design helps music players withstand the abuse that hand-held devices take.
