Apple Computer, the maker of the world’s most popular digital media players, on Tuesday unveiled its new digital media player with brighter screen enabling users to enjoy movies on their iPod devices during traveling. To great regret of those, who expected a newly-designed large-screen iPod, the new gadget resembles its predecessors and has no big screen. In addition, the company kicked off selling movies using its iTunes music store.
The new iPod music and video players feature “60% brighter” screens, increased battery life, as well as new features, including instant searching, faster scrolling, cross-over between songs as well as games. The 30GB model features up to 14 hours of battery life for music playback and up to 3.5 hours of video playback, and the 80GB model features up to 20 hours of battery life for music playback and 5 and a half hours of video playback depending on brightness.

The new 30GB iPod model in white or black is available for $249, and the new 80GB model in white or black is available for $349. All iPod models include redesigned earbud headphones providing superior comfort, fit and sound quality, and a USB 2.0 cable.
Additionally, Apple introduced revamped iPod nano and iPod shuffle that now come in metal cases.
