Sony Announces Launch Lineup of PlayStation 4 Games

Sony Discloses First-to-Be-Released PS4 Titles

Sony Computer Entertainment on Tuesday unveiled lineup of games that will be available for the forthcoming PlayStation 4 game console this calendar year. The list includes fifteen Blu-ray titles many of which will be cross-platform and will thus work on multiple systems, including PlayStation 3. Still, there are some PS4 exclusive titles in the plans. In addition, there will be games available as downloads.


A total of 15 Blu-ray disc titles developed by SCE worldwide studios (SCE WWS) and numerous software developers and publishers from around the globe will be released between the launch of PS4 and December 31st, 2013. Combined with digital download titles, an astounding 33 titles will be available before the end of the year.

According to Sony, there are currently more than 180 PS4 titles in development, and in addition to the launch titles, Destiny from Activision Publishers/Bungie, Diablo III from Blizzard Entertainment, Mad Max from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Witcher 3 from CD Projekt, The Divison from Ubisoft Entertainment, Dragon Age from Electronic Arts, as well as Shadow of the Beast, The Order:1886, inFamous: Second Son, Rime, Hell Divers, Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture, and Resogun from SCE WWS are expected to be released for PS4.

The line-up reflects the strong support for PlayStation 4 among virtually every software developer and publisher and within the independent development community. Since June 2013, the number of developers joining has increased from nearly 500 to 620.

The PlayStation4 (CUH-1000A series) computer entertainment system will launch on November 15, 2013 in the Canada and U.S., and from November 29, 2013 in Europe (PAL region) including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The PS4 will also launch in the following ten Latin American countries on November 29: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru.

When the PlayStation 4 will become available this year, it will be sold at a recommended retail price (RRP) of $399, CAD$399, €399, and £349.
