Big Bruin has an interview with representative of Crucial, a division of Micron Corporation, a memory modules retailer/e-tailer. In interview they talk about the company itself, future of the system and graphics memory and so on. One of the most interesting questions is about high-speed memory beyond JEDEC specifications, particularly about wiliness of Micron to produce such DIMMs (and, of course, Crucial to sell these parts). Crucial representative said that his company has no plans to offer memory modules, which work outside JEDEC specifications. Read the interview here.
Netcraft, an Internet service providing some statistical data, recently issued a report about number of web-sites, which are running Windows 2003 Server OS. Report claims that in roughly three months after official launch of this OS, the number of web-sites running it, increased by more than 300% and at the moment of report release stood at 88 400. Of those, about 5 % were migrated from Linux. I do not consider it as a significant progress, but Netcraft thinks that “Microsoft will take some considerable encouragement at the number of sites that have switched from Linux”. Well, will Microsoft Server 2003 kill Linux eventually? Read the entire report here.
