New Technology Solutions Inc. (NTSI), a server and workstation producer, this week announced a new reseller program for CAD/CAM VARS and System Integrators who need to meet the growing demand for AMD64-based workstations and servers. Following AMD’s strategy to offer OEMs and SIs complete barebone systems for distribution, NTSI is one of the companies, who provides such boxes with full support.

“Most CAD/CAM resellers have moved away from selling hardware as their primary source of revenue,” said Shawn Harty, president of New Technology Solutions, Inc.  “However, there is a new and strong revenue opportunity in the sale of AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon 64 processor-based systems to the engineering community. Our goal is to help these resellers meet the needs of their clients without having to change their business model and move into system building.”

NTSI has been in the high-end workstation and server business since 1995. The company claims it has thousands of customers throughout the United States and Europe. NTSI GMBH, Stuttgart, serves Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Italy. Concurrent Design Group, Alton Hampshire, represents NTSI in the United Kingdom.

Pricing for NTSI’s complete or barebones AMD processor-based systems is available through an on-line configurator offering built-in reseller discounts.  NTSI will handle the RMA, parts stocking, testing, pricing and specifications, allowing resellers to focus on delivering a high quality custom solution to their customers.

Currently NTSI’s offerings include 1P AMD Athlon 64, Athlon 64 FX workstations with up to 4GB of memory or 2P AMD Opteron-based solutions supporting up to 16GB of registered DDR memory.

Earlier this years AMD announced that Celestica would be a premier system builder of servers offered through Validated Server Program. The list of actual OEMs was limited to APPRO, Aspen Systems and RackSaver in North America, and so far AMD has not announced any validated OEMs in Europe.
