The year 2005 has brought a number of changes to the whole computer industry about the globe: the digital music players became mainstream, multi-core processors were launched and multi-chip graphics solutions emerged again. Besides that, some other very important events took place.

This year X-bit labs annual poll has 18 nominations, seeking to find out the best of the best among microprocessor makers, chipset designers, computer case makers, games, graphics cards makers, graphics chips designers, HHD producers, high-performance system creators, mainboards manufacturers, notebook producers, overclockers’ memory modules manufacturers, small form-factor PCs creators, audio solutions for PCs and other hardware.

X-bit labs’ annual poll 2005 is a yet another possibility to notify the industry your preferences and see what others feel. Share your opinion with us – choose the best of the best in 2005.

The poll that is located at http://www.xbitlabs.com/misc/poll will be active throughout the following weeks. X-bit labs will publish the final results in early 2006!

Holy Cow, you guys left out ATI for best Graphics Card Manufacturer???? You left out Supermicro,Intel and Aopen for best mainboard makers!?? What the heck were you thinking when you made that list? How can anyone vote on something like that with such glaring omissions?

You also left out Supermicro for best case maker, although this is understandable. Still, they would get my vote. Also, for CPU maker, why not mention VIA and IBM ??? Not that VIA would get many votes, but IBM probably would probably get some.

NZXT (and a lesser Aspire) is missing from the Case Maker catagory! Where is IBM in the CPU catagory? ASRock and Asus have seperate catagories in the motherboards catagory... I guess thats acceptable... But Fortron and FSP Group in the PSU Catagory? Those need to be merged... and then there is no PC Power & Cooling in the PSU catagory... ULi/ALi is lacking from the best chipset designer. .... and Im sure there are tons of other good choices for the other catagories that have been left out... or even bad choices (ECS, PC Chips for the Mobo catagory... so everyone can see how much their products suck when they receive 0 votes).
