Dell Inc., the world’s largest maker of personal computers (PCs), has published photos of its next-generation high-performance XPS gaming desktop. The maker, who recently acquired high-performance PC specialist Alienware, did not unveil any peculiarities regarding the new XPS except design, leaving observers to guess whether the published pictures reflect the successors of current XPS lineup, or describe how the son of the XPS 600 Renegade looks like.

Dell’s web-site portrays the new XPS desktop as “hero”, “warrior”, “king”, “champion” and the “next generation of PC gaming”.

The design of the new Dell XPS is totally different compared to the XPS family machines shipping today. The new computer case is very stylish and comes with red or blue lighting on the front panel, completely dissimilar from the contemporary XPS systems, but resembling the recently sold-out XPS 600 Renegade that came with pre-overclocked processor and an array of four Nvidia GeForce 7900-based graphics cards.

Dell says that the new XPS will come in a specially-designed aluminum case that will ensure efficient cooling, quiet operation and easy expansion. “It will be the most customizable system Dell has ever offered,” the company claims.

It is unclear whether the system will feature overclocked Intel’s current-generation processors, or will employ the company’s new Intel Core 2 microprocessors due to arrive in July. Additionally, it was not said directly whether Dell plans to equip its new XPS with quad multi-GPU SLI solution, though, it was promised that the computers will feature the latest graphics technologies.
