Origin Readies Liquid-Cooled Quad-SLI Systems with GeForce GTX Titan

Origin, a maker of enthusiast PCs founded by former executives of Alienware, has developed the world’s first personal computer with four Nvidia Corp.’s GeForce GTX Titan graphics cards that will be cooled using a proprietary liquid cooling system. The high-end gaming PCs are expected to be available for order later this week.
Starting from Thursday, February 21, 2013, Origin will offer its Genesis and Big O systems with optional quad-SLI multi-GPU graphics sub-system powered by Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan graphics cards. The 4-way multi-GPU system will come with increased frequencies and will be cooled-down using Cryogenic sealed liquid cooling solution jointly developed by Orgin and EK Water Blocks.
The GeForce GTX Titan is powered by Nvidia GK110 processor containing 7.1 billion of transistors. The chip has active 2688 stream processors, 224 texture units, 48 raster operating as well as 384-bit memory bus. The monstrous graphics processor is clocked at 837MHz and can boost its speed to 876MHz, which is a result of the extremely high number of transistors. The graphics card comes with 6GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 6GHz. According to Nvidia, systems powered by GeForce GTX Titan generally deliver 30% - 40% higher graphics performance compared to similar PCs powered by AMD Radeon HD 7970 or GeForce GTX 680, respectively. Each GeForce GTX Titan costs starting from $999 in retail.

It is interesting to note that Nvidia officially supports up to 3-way SLI multi-GPU technology with its single-chip graphics cards. Nonetheless, builders of premium systems, such as Origin, provide their customers an option to install up to four of high-end graphics cards for ultimate performance in games that support extreme multi-GPU configurations.
Pricing of Origin PCs with quad-SLI GeForce GTX Titan remains unknown, but the pre-overclocked liquid-cooled graphics sub-system alone will cost well-over $4000.
