Nvidia Corp. has announced that it has named Colette Kress, a 24-year veteran of the tech industry, as executive vice president and chief financial officer. The company has been searching for a new CFO for over two years. Ms. Kress, age 46, whose appointment takes effect later this month, reports to Jen-Hsun Huang, Nvidia's president and chief executive officer.

"We have searched extensively for the right candidate and are thrilled to have Colette Kress join us. She brings fantastic experience, excellent financial management skills and deep industry knowledge to Nvidia. Ms. Colette will be a great asset as we work to extend our global leadership in visual computing, mobile and the cloud. I want to thank Karen Burns for her truly outstanding work as interim CFO as we conducted our search," said Mr. Huang.

Collette Kress most recently served for three years as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Cisco's business technology and operations finance organization. She was responsible for financial strategy, planning, reporting and business development for all business segments, engineering and operations.

Previously, she spent 13 years at Microsoft, including four years as chief financial officer of the server and tools division, and held senior roles in corporate planning and finance. Prior to that, she served at Texas Instruments in a variety of finance positions.

Kress holds a B.Sc. degree in finance from University of Arizona and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

currently nvidia is facing toough time but soon things will be worse coz in mobile market qualcomm rules while in cheaper device mediatek is doing great and apple and samsung uses their own design.and nvidia said in 2012 that "mobile market gives more profit" be ceo jen.......long name,now how much profit u hv?just wait and see Q1 2014 nvidia financial results,they will be on knees.

in console everywhere AMD.

in pc segment AMD is all set to NEVER SETTLE nvidia by volcanic island and its competitor nvidia maxwell will come after 8 months(in best case).and for maxwell, pirate island will be there which will be a true breakthrough.

in HPC segment intel will have knights landing with stacked dram(700+ gb/sec.).

Colette Kress mam welcome to nvidia u worked for company(MS) who hv monopoly, now work for a company having 2 kick-a** rivals(qualcomm,amd), and worst ever competitor evil god i.e. Intel(undefeated till date).

i personally think Colette Kress mam left MS coz of mr. ballmer i m sure Colette Kress opposed ballmer's nonsense strategies and result MS looses a good one and even worse nokia's veteran also leaving from nokia-MS just coz of such a good ceo Ballmer.
