The KT3 Ultra-ARU (MS-6380E) mainboard is equipped with almost everything you can think of, including USB 2.0 and ATA/133 RAID controllers. The mainboard for Socket A processors is designed in ATX form-factor, features 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB PC1600/PC2100/PC2700 DDR SDRAM, 5 PCI, 1 CNR and 1 AGP 4x slot. It uses V-Link bus between the chipset bridges, supports ATA/133, AC’97 sound and is provided with the onboard ATA/133 RAID controller from Promise (PDC20276), 4 USB 2.0 ports (NEC) and 4 USB 1.1 ports. Besides, the mainboard also supports MSI’s brand technologies such as Fuzzy Logic3, S-Bracket, D-Bracket, Live BIOS and Live Driver.
All in all, judging by the number of mainboards on KT333 already announced, it seems to me that VIA has absolutely no intention to give it up in favour of KT333A solution. It will be a great pity if The Inquirer appears wrong (see this news story). Anyway, let’s wait for February 20 and see what VIA will launch on that day.
