VIA made an official press-release telling the world about the launching of their single-chip Fast Ethernet controller: VIA Rhine III VT6105. This solution offers transfer speeds of 10Mbps and 100Mbps in a low power package that incorporates performance networking with power conservation features such as Wake-on-LAN.

The VIA VT6105 is manufactured with a 0.22micron CMOS design by TSMC. It is designed with a 32bit PCI interface and can be either integrated onto mainboards or used to built add-on expansion cards. The product price hasn’t been announced for some reasons.
