Well, we would like to offer you one more news item from The Inquirer. Two days ago (see this news story) the guys over at The Inquirer told us that the new (or "pseudo-new", to be more exact) chipset from VIA, KT333, will be launched on January 17, i.e. today. However, now the guys managed to get some info from the sources even "closer to VIA" and they claim that KT333 chipset is very unlikely to be launched before February 20.
And now the most important thing: do we really care when this notorious KT333 chipset will be launched? Do you think that anyone will need it that much if its only difference from KT266A is the support of the new PC2700 DDR SDRAM, and then, in Q2 2002 a new KT333A with the AGP 8x support, 533MB/sec V-Link bus and new South Bridge supporting USB 2.0 will come out? Even if KT333 never comes out: will it do so much harm to anyone?
By the way, if you are looking for more details on VIA’s future plans, please see this news story.
