KYRO II Ultra, being about a quarter late, will be none other but an overclocked regular KYRO II. Like its predecessor, this chip will be made with 0.18micron manufacturing technology and its working frequency will be increased from 175MHz to 200MHz.
Being the No. 1 partner of STM, Hercules will announce KYRO II Ultra based graphics card together with the chip launching. This card is expected to be called Prophet 4800 and will belong to the high-performance graphics cards family including solutions based on ATI chips.
As for STM’s next offspring, with PowerVR Series 4 architecture, KYRO III, which should be made with 0.13micron manufacturing technology and feature hardware T&L unit, 4 rendering pipelines instead of 2 and should work at 250MHz-300MHz core clock, the launching of this solution has now been moved to the coming spring.
