SiS can really be proud of itself: they managed to win the heart of such a well-known manufacturer as ASUS. Now ASUS is one of SiS’s key partners and is among the first ones to receive all samples and new products. The results of this cooperation didn’t keep us waiting for long. ASUS is now offering a pretty full set of products built on SiS chipsets and is one of the first to start shipping SiS based mainboards. Now SiS has two major products: SiS735 for Athlon CPUs and SIS645 for Pentium 4 CPUs. The lifetime of the solution seems to be coming to an end that is why it was of no interest to ASUS. However the DDR333 core logic, SiS645, inspired ASUS to develop two mainboards: P4S333 and its MicroATX version P4S333-M. At present SiS is starting to ship its integrated Pentium 4 DDR chipset aka SiS650. Of course, ASUS has already prepared its solutions based on this chipset. Here they are:

• P4S333-VM. This Socket478 mainboard is designed in MicroATX form-factor. It features 2 DIMM slots for PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, an AGP 4x slot and 3 PCI slots. The mainboard goes with an onboard AC’97 sound and an optional LAN controller.
  
  
• P4S333-VF. This is a complete analogy of the previous solution but designed in FlexATX form-factor and hence featuring only 2 PCI slots.
  

We would like to point out that despite the claimed DDR333 support in SiS650, there is not a single mainboard with the official support of this memory type announced. All the SiS650 based mainboards launched so far support only PC2100 and PC1600 DDR SDRAM, according to their specs. Despite the fact that the memory bus bandwidth is very important for integrated solutions, since there is not only a CPU working with the memory but also the graphics core in this case.
