Although it might seem pretty strange to you, but it is an undeniable fact. Right before the official announcement of the new Pentium 4 chipset from Intel, i845D, the mainboard manufacturers are actively launching their new solutions on a totally different DDR chipset for Pentium 4, namely on SiS 645. Today, a mainboard like that was announced by Gigabyte.

The board is called GA-8SRX. It supports Socket478 Pentium 4 processors, features 3 DIMM slots for PC2700/PC2100 DDR SDRAM, an AGP 4x slot, 6 PCI and 1 CNR slot. Besides, it also supports AC’97 sound, and 4 USB ports. The mainboard offers some overclocking friendly functions, such as FSB frequency and Vcore adjustment.
