A few days ago, we told you about the possible coming of one more ATI graphics solution aka RADEON 7500LE. Today this info got confirmed. Moreover, we managed to find out some more details about this modification and its features.
Judging by the name of the newcomer, ATI RADEON 7500LE will be based on the same graphics core as the regular RADEON 7500, i.e. on R100 (RADEON) core. The chip frequency of RADEON 7500LE graphics cards will be a bit lower than that of RADEON 7500: 250MHz compared with 275MHz. The major differences between the cards will lie with the graphics memory. If the regular RADEON 7500 use DDR SDRAM working at 460MHz, RADEON 7500LE will be equipped with much slower 5ns SDR SDRAM working at 175MHz. Though RADEON 7500LE will also have 64MB of memory onboard.
So, RADEON 7500LE formally looks like RADEON 7200, which is also equipped with SDR SDRAM, but with a strongly overclocked core and dual-monitor support (HydraVision technology). This way the performance of RADEON 750LE will be somewhere between that of RADEON 7500 and RADEON 7200. The same thing can be said about the price: the cost of RADEON 7500LE will most probably be around $80, which means that ATI positions its newcomer as a competitor to NVIDIA GeForce2 Ti.

We would like to note that since this Chinese site is the source of the info mentioned above, it may turn out that ATI will position its RADEON 7500LE only as a solution for the local Eastern market. However, remembering the RADEON LE story, we can say that it never prevented the cards from spreading worldwide.
