According to The Inquirer, AMD is going to announce its new chipset supporting Dual-processor Socket A configurations, namely AMD-760MPX, next week. As you remember, AMD-760MPX will consist of the already familiar AMD-762 North Bridge (borrowed from AMD-760MP chipset) and a new AND-768 South Bridge supporting 64bit 66MHz PCI bus.
It was also reported that the leading mainboard manufacturers, such as ASUS, Gigabyte, Tyan and maybe ABIT and MSI will announce their AMD-760MPX based mainboards next week as well.
Before the end of the year AMD is going to make another attack to the server market. They are planning to announce their new Duron processor intended for dual-processor systems. The newcomer will be called Duron MP and will work at 1GHz, 1.1GHz and 1.2GHz.
