Albatron launched two new mainboards with silver coating of the PCB. Following Triplex, which manufactures graphics cards with silver PCB, the company claims that computer components with silver coating are much better than those without. The novelties are called Silver PX845G and Silver PX845E, as you can easily guess from their brand-names, they are based on Intel’s 845G as well as Intel 845E chipsets.

According to Albatron, the newcomers offer the following advantages:

  • They look better. Now the PCBs are coated with silver, Albatron is much easier to seduce the customers and persuade them to buy these silver beauties.
  • Silver coating protects the mainboard from electromagnetic radiation from graphics cards, CPUs, memory modules and so on. On the other hand, electromagnetic emanation of the mainboard itself should be 47% lower compared to ordinary devices of the same kind.
  • Albatron says silver helps to dissipate the heat better, what is quite critical when the product is being overclocked. Since metal coats the whole PCB and silver’s heat conductivity is very high, they are able to say that the mainboards are 15% cooler (in terms of temperature ;]) than the rivals.
Both mainboards are intended for Pentium 4 processors with 400/533 MHz system bus, provide AGP 4 slot, six PCI slots, one CNR slot, three DIMM slots, 6-channel AC’97 audio-solution, six USB 2.0 ports and so on. In addition, PX845G also offers integrated graphics core. Nothing is said about pricing and availability.

Earlier this year Nokia established Vertu, a subsidiary that manufactures and sells very exclusive and very expensive mobile phones. These state-of-the-art cellular phones made of diamonds-encrusted gold, are intended for those, who want to have a thing that will be totally different from what can be found on the market. A device can cost up to several thousands of Euros.

Well, maybe it is just the right time to start the same service for mainboard buyers?
