Maxtor Company started a very interesting and pleasing promotion campaign. They announced that from now on they would be offering "packages" including a hard disk drive supporting new ATA/133 interface aka Fast drive and an ATA/133 controller. Moreover, the controller card (the manufacturer hasn’t been yet revealed) costing around $79.95 will be enclosed absolutely for free! Of course, not all the Maxtor HDD models take part in this campaign, but only three, namely: DiamondMax D540X-4G (Neptune, 5400rpm, 40GB per platter) with the storage capacity of 120GB and 160GB, and DiamondMax Plus D740X (7200rpm, 40GB per platter) with the storage capacity of 80GB.
The recommended street price for the package with DiamondMax Plus D740X 80GB (L01J080G) makes $229.95, with DiamondMax D540X 120GB (K01J120G) - $279.95, and with DiamondMax D540X 160GB (K01J160G) - $329.95. the campaign will last till the end of December, 2001.
