As we have predicted (see this news story), Intel officially announced that they reduced the prices for some of their desktop and server processors. This price drop touched upon three elder Pentium 4 models (the maximum drop made around 29%), elder Xeon model (26%), both Pentium III-S CPUs (the price dropped down by 11%) and 4 Pentium III CPUs including those processors on 0.13micron Tualatin core, which we have already mentioned here. All the details can be found in the official Intel’s price-list for 1,000-unit quantities, which is valid from October 28.
