Of course, these were none other but the notorious Pentium III (Tualatin/256), which seemed to have be gone forever. Certainly, Intel kept shipping them in limited quantities to its OEM partners for a long time, however the fact that they appeared in the company’s official price-list seemed to us absolutely unreal. Nevertheless, the fact is undeniable.
The most interesting thing about it is that Celeron 1.2GHz based on the same 0.13micron Tualatin/256 core costs almost 2.5 times less than Pentium III 1.2GHz (compare $103 and $268). And the difference between them lies actually with the clock frequency multipliers...
