Although it is quite strange, but loads of mainboard makers announced their SiS648 powered products at the end of this week. One of them is EPoX who unveiled their EP-4SDA5+ with a very rich list of different features, allowing this newcomer to compete with advanced products based on far more expensive Intel 850E and Intel 845E core-logic sets.

Here are the specifications the EP-4SDA5+ has to offer:

  • Supports Socket 478 Pentium 4 processors with 400/533MHz FSB;
  • SiS648 + SiS963 core-logic;
  • 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB of PC1600 or PC2100 DDR SDRAM. 2 DIMM slots can also function with up to 2GB of PC2700 or DDR400 DDR SDRAM;
  • 6 PCI, 1 AGP 8x;
  • Integrated 2-channel ATA-133 controller;
  • ATA-133 RAID controller from HighPoint
  • 6 USB 2.0 ports;
  • Integrated IEEE1394 controller;
  • AC’97 6-channel audio solution;
  • 10/100Mbit Fast Ethernet controller Realtek RTL8201BL;
  • ATX Form Factor;
  • POST 7-segment LED display;
  • Allows overclockers to adjust FSB speed with 1MHz step as well as Vcore, Vmem and Vagp tuning.
According to official information, EPoX has already started to supply the novelty. Nothing is said regarding pricing and future Pentium 4 processors support.
