VIA had to announce the price drop on its low-cost integrated solution PL133 (PM133 without the external AGP support). The price got down to $15 in 1,000-unit quantities. The company was forced to do it because of the price drop on ALi Aladdin TNT2 chipset, which we told you about yesterday. However, unlike ALi, VIA set this price only for those mainboard makers, which belong to the largest ones (ASUS, MSI, Elitegroup and Gigabyte).
As for SiS630S, SiS didn’t have to reduce its cost because it is already selling for $15-$16. But frankly speaking, this is the least attractive chipset of the three mentioned...
