At the Taipei Intel Developers Forum, Frank E. Spindler (Intel’s general manager of the mobile platforms group) showcased a working system built on the new Pentium III processor with 0.13 micron Tualatin core and said that these CPUs will be targeted mostly at the notebook market, according to VR-Zone. In the desktop market the accent will be made on Pentium 4 processor, as you know.
So, the desktop future of the new product seems too vague now, especially taking into account that it is expected to be more expensive that Pentium 4. If the previously obtained info claimed that Tualatin may be used even in servers, now we very much doubt it and this application of the CPU seems to be an exception rather than a rule.
Mobile Tualatin processors are supposed to appear in the market in summer. Almost at the same time when Intel 830M (Almador) chipset should be launched.
