Itanium based on Merced core will be launched in H1 2001. With the introduction of Itanium the company plans to launch 460GX and 870 chipsets. The 460GX supports up to four Itanium processors linked to PC100 SDRAM memory while 870 chipsets can support 2-512 CPUs, Cowan explained.
And the Itanium on McKinley core will be launched in H2 2001.
Well, we don’t believe our eyes: is it possible that we finally see the notorious Itanium live?
