IBM has introduced a new Travelstar HDD for notebooks sporting 48GB data capacity. In this hard disk drive IBM has implemented its latest DNSS technology (Drive Noise Suppression System). The main idea of this technology is to replace regular ball bearings with liquid ones.
The disc consists of four platters revolving at 5400 RPM. The huge Travelstar 48GB weighs 155g and is 12mm high.
