It came out that Cyrix III supports SMP! Concerning the new wrinkle, we assume that these CPUs are likely to invade the Low-End servers sector and oppose Transmeta’s processors. As you may know, their power consumption is quite close, but Crusoe offers no dual-processor support.
Apart from Low-End servers, the SMP-supporting Cyrix III is much more suitable for cluster systems. That’s the ground where VIA’s pet can beat Crusoe. Anyway, the time will show who is the best...
