Following in the footsteps of more experienced manufacturers, their younger bothers turn to GeForce2 MX 400 and MX 200 chips. We received a word about the Korean SUMA’s desire to launch a graphics card built on GeForce2 MX 400. The card will be known as Platinum GeForce2 MX SIF400. It works at 200MHz core frequency and has 32MB 5.5ns on-board memory by Hyundai clocked at 183MHz. Furthermore, Platinum GeForce2 MX SIF400 will pride itself of a brand SIF (Suma Individual analog Filter), a daughter card with an analog filter specially designed to make 2D graphics more clear. Unfortunately, our tests prove that SIF doesn’t always live up to the users’ expectations. Now and then simple cards with no filter at all offer much higher 2D graphics quality than those with SIF.
