Some mainboards manufacturers demonstrate at CeBIT their Socket 370 i815 B-step based products supporting the 0.13-micron version of Pentium III Tualatin. As far as Tualatin requires a lower AGTL+ voltage of 1.2V, modern mainboards with AGTL+ 1.5V fail to work with this CPU. The new boards will be compatible with both old and new (Tualatin) Pentium III.

Japanese site PC Watch provides further details about such mainboards demonstrated at the exhibition:

  • FIC FS-35T is a Micro ATX mainboard with two DIMM slots, one AGP 4x, three PCI and one CNR slot. (see the photo)
  • ABIT ST6-RAID is a traditional ABIT’s product intended for overclockers. It features three DIMM slots for PC133/PC100 SDRAM, one AGP 4x, six PCI and one CNR slot. Apart from that, the board is provided with HPT370, ATA/100 RAID controller. (see the photo)
  • Gigabyte GA-6OXET supports up to 512MB memory, but it is equipped with only four DIMM slots. Other characteristics look quite standard: one AGP 4x, six PCI, one CNR. This mainboard boasts an integrated PCI audio controller, Creative CT5880. Furthermore, GA-6OXET supports the brand DualBIOS technology. (see the photo).
Anyway, those mainboards at CeBIT are most probably just mechanical samples, where i815 B-step is substituted with the regular i815. The matter is that Intel has not yet started sampling of the new version of this chipset to mainboards manufacturers.
