Famous in specialized circles for its comparatively cheap mainboards, PCChips has announced 817LMR - a new Socket A board based on ALi MAGiK 1 chipset. It looks like this mainboard will become one the cheapest solutions with DDR SDRAM support. A proving fact is the inexpensive core logic by ALi. At the same time, 817LMR has something to boast: the board is provided with two 164-pin DIMM slots for PC133/PC100 SDRAM, two 184-pin DIMM slots for PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, one 4x AGP slot, four PCI and one AMR slot. Moreover, there is integrated AC’97 sound and 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN controller. Another pleasant thing will be to see this mainboard working :)
