At CeBIT, AMD today announced the 1.33GHz and 1.3GHz AMD Athlon processors. The 1.33GHz AMD Athlon processor, featuring a 266MHz front side bus, is priced at $350 in 1,000-unit quantities. The 1.3GHz AMD Athlon processor, featuring a 200MHz front side bus, is priced at $318 in 1,000-unit quantities.
Intel’s response to Athlon 1.33GHz, Pentium 4 1.7GHz, is awaited one of these days. According to the latest Intel Roadmap, Pentium 4 1.7GHz will be announced on April 18, but Intel admits that the date may be advanced.
