As for GeForce2 Pro, things look even more vague. Yet NVIDIA hasn’t uttered a word about official changes in the specs. However, last week a videocard with 32MB memory based on this chipset was somehow announced by ELSA (only for the Asian market so far). OK, this could be treated as an exception. But now ELSA is followed by Leadtek, who announced today a new Enhanced WinFast GeForce2 Pro 32/64MB (that is, including the 32MB version of GeForce2 Pro). The most thriving point is that although there is «Pro» in the board’s name, its frequencies are not standard indicating 200MHz for the core and 366MHz for the memory. Even the memory itself is not a common case: Enhanced WinFast GeForce2 Pro features DDR SGRAM (don’t confuse with SDRAM!) by Samsung with 5.5ns access time. So, Leadtek’s newcomer will be a bit slower than the «original» GeForce2 Pro.

The mutant by Leadtek will be equipped with a traditional huge cooler and 3 LEDs which help users identify the hardware status. The new board supports the brand Hardware Sensor to monitor temperature, voltage and speed of the chip, cooling module and the board itself. The price of Enhanced WinFast GeForce2 Pro is still an unknown figure.
