Promoting its Value Internet Architecture, VIA has introduced a new form-factor, ITX. It is aimed at creating compact and cheap integrated platforms for Value PCs, Information PCs, and Digital PC Appliances such as Set Top Boxes. The specifications of the new ITX are:
  • 215x191mm mainboard
  • Integrated USB, IEEE1394, TV-Out and ACR support to make the system as cheap as possible
  • Integrated sound and graphics
  • Socket 370
  • 174x73x55mm power supply unit with an integrated cooler
Thus, ITX implies maximal integration on an even smaller mainboard than FlexATX. As a reference ITX platform VIA suggests to take mainboards built on VIA Apollo PLE133 core logic and Cyrix III processors.
