Not so long ago, namely on March 14, appeared the new Detonator drivers version 11.00 from NVIDIA. The list of supported chips in these drivers got a new line, saying the new detonator drivers support NVIDIA’s upcoming integrated Crush11 chipset. It means that NVIDIA is going to start sampling its Crush11 to the mainboard makers in the nearest future. We would like to remind you that Crush11 is forefather of a new product family – core logic chipsets. Crush11 chipset will be targeted for Socket A processors and will support DDR SDRAM. Moreover, it will be also equipped with an integrated GeForce2 MX graphics core.
The mainboard manufacturers have already scheduled the sampling of the first Crus11 based mainboards for Q2. The mass shipments should start in early Q3 already. As we have seen in the roadmaps of some mainboard developers, most of them will target their products based on NVIDIA’s new chipset for OEM and system integrators market. Take for instance, Chaintech. This company will be offering two mainboards based on Crush11 chipset: 7NID and 7NIV. Both mainboards will be designed in MicroATX form-factor, will feature integrated PCI sound 2 DDR DIMM slots, and 3 PCI slots. The mainboards based on Crush11 won’t have an external AGP slot.
