It is for the second time already that MSI Company sent out an official press-release about the launching of its VIA KT266 based mainboard – KT7266 Pro.
We usually do not concentrate on the PR actions like that, however, this mainboard deserves being mentioned one more time. The peculiar thing about it is the integrated USB 2.0 controller (480Mbit/sec USB bandwidth, i.e. 40 times faster than USB 1.1), which makes this mainboard unique. It looks as if MSI weren’t satisfied with the public response to the launching of such an interesting product that is why they decided to "announce" it once again. :-)
We have already contributed to the unique character of this mainboard :-) that is why we would like to explain what caused such an indifferent attitude at first. Everything is very simple: there are no devices in the market supporting USB 2.0. Therefore, we would call this mainboard a “future” product (especially since USB 2.0 controllers support old USB 1.1 devices as well).
