This week a new Socket A mainboard from ASUS, A7A266, appeared in Japan. As you may remember, this mainboard is based on ALi MAGiK 1 chipset and supports two memory types: PC100/PC133 SDRAM and PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. Due to this feature, ASUS pins a lot of hopes on this product. The thing is that being highly flexible in terms of memory configuring, this mainboard is relatively cheap. It is selling in Japan (which has never been a cheap hardware market) for $200. ASUS even considers this product to become the most well-selling DDR board in the nearest future.
ASUS A7A266 features pretty relevant specs. It is provided with 1 AGP Pro, 5 PCI, 1 AMR, 3 DIMM and 3 DDR DIMM slots. The board also allows overclocking FSB frequency with 1MHz increment.
